Are you up for another amazing celebration of SuperSHEro Power? The Girls on the Run Fall 5k Run/Walk, presented by the Canton Akron Soccer Club, is the culminating celebration for 100 Stark County* girls who have completed our youth empowerment program, Girls on the Run (for 3rd through 5th grade girls) this fall.
In the 10 weeks leading up to the 5k, these girls train with a team of close friends to defeat the Girl Box, celebrate their SuperSHEro powers, and complete the GOTR Fall 5k Run/Walk.
Please note long-sleeve t-shirts are only guaranteed through November 5, 2016. For those who register after November 5, a limited selection of 2016 Spring 5k and vintage GOTR shirts will be available.

SuperSHEroes constantly battle the Girl Box. Yeah, the GIRL BOX. Walk down the doll aisle in any store, and you'll see rows and rows of identical boxes. Lots and lots of perfect little boxes. Society pressures all women to fit into its version of these perfect little boxes: the Girl Box.
Inside, we're trying to be who we're told we're supposed to be (you know—skinny but not too skinny, pretty but not too pretty, stylish, smart, etc . . .), instead of being our truly awesome, amazing, powerful, unique selves. Isn't it time you broke out of your Girl Box?
Check your Girl Box at the registration desk, and join us for the Girls on the Run FALL 5k Run/Walk! It's a 5k Run/Walk like no other—capes, giggles, smiles, tutus, crowns, girl power stripes, colorful hairdos, cheers, encouragement, and girl & GUY power abound!
Men, women, boys, and girls are encouraged to celebrate the SuperSHEro and SuperHEro powers that really matter—the ones you can't see, like courage, quirkiness, confidence, strength, joy, creativity, and just plain awesomeness—as they complete the 5k at their own pace and with their own unique style.
Our 1st annual GOTR Fall 5k Run/Walk is open to female and male walkers and runners of all shapes, sizes, and abilities.
Strollers are permitted in the GOTR Fall 5k. Sorry, no dogs.
For the safety of our GOTR participants, only runners who have registered for the GOTR 5k and are wearing their bibs will be permitted on the course.

Are you looking to run or walk your first 5k, too? If so you can download one of our training programs. Follow our programs and you'll be ready to go in just 10 weeks!
Each of our GOTR girls deserves to have all of the support she can get! Instead of just one Running Buddy, build her a team of running buddies (the Power Patrol).
Families are encouraged to build Power Patrols for their GOTR girls--moms, grandmas, aunts, sisters, cousins, and FEMALES of all ages simply register for the Girls on the Run 5k and meet your daughter and her team for 5k-day warm-ups and cheers!
Then, gather your team at the start line to cheer on your GOTR girl and share the course with her. All members should agree to move forward at their own pace with a positive attitude--whether that means running, walking, or skipping! It's the perfect 5k Run/Walk for first-timers or experienced runners!
This is considered a noncompetitive run, and our GOTR girls understand that everyone in this 5k should be running, walking, or skipping at her own pace.
Negativity and pressure to compete should be avoided at all costs!
