Are you up for an amazing celebration of SuperSHEro Power? The Girls on the Run 5k Run/Walk, presented by Second Sole, is the culminating celebration for nearly 600 girls who have completed our youth empowerment programs, Girls on the Run (for 3rd through 5th grade girls) and Heart & Sole (for 6th through 8th grade girls). In the 10 weeks leading up to the 5k, these girls train with a team of close friends to defeat the Girl Box, celebrate their SuperSHEro powers, and complete the GOTR 5k Run/Walk.
*Don’t worry. It’s just one guy! See what it takes to be the next SoleMale here!

SuperSHEroes constantly battle the Girl Box. Yeah, the GIRL BOX. Walk down the doll aisle in any store, and you'll see rows and rows of identical boxes. Lots and lots of perfect little boxes. Society pressures all women to fit into its version of these perfect little boxes: the Girl Box.
Inside, we're trying to be who we're told we're supposed to be (you know—skinny but not too skinny, pretty but not too pretty, stylish, smart, etc . . .), instead of being our truly awesome, amazing, powerful, unique selves. Isn't it time you broke out of your Girl Box?
Check your Girl Box at the registration desk, and join us for the Girls on the Run 5k Run/Walk! It's a 5k Run/Walk like no other—capes, giggles, smiles, tutus, crowns, girl power stripes, colorful hairdos, cheers, encouragement, and girl power abound!
All women and girls are encouraged to celebrate the SuperSHEro powers that really matter—the ones you can't see, like courage, quirkiness, confidence, strength, joy, creativity, and just plain awesomeness—as they complete the 5k at their own pace and with their own unique style.
Our 8th annual GOTR 5k Run/Walk is open to female walkers and runners of all shapes, sizes, and abilities . . . and just one guy.*
We're adding an all new competitive walking option to our 5k with age group awards!
The top finisher will receive an award as well as the top finisher in each of the following age groups: 15 & under; 15-25, 26-35, 36-45, 46-55, 56-65, 66 & over!
Winners will receive a Thirty-One Gifts bag, along with a set of pin-back buttons.
Be aware that if you sign up to walk our 5k, you will be disqualified from awards if you run at all.

Arrive as early as possible—we are expecting a minimum of 2,000 participants! There is NO parking at the Walsh track. Park at Walsh in the lots across from the track or park in the Giant Eagle parking lot and walk to the track.
(Please do not attempt walking across East Maple—you can reach registration through the tunnel by the Walsh track.)
Road Closings will be announced once we have finalized our new course map!
The course is a certified loop course beginning and ending in front of Walsh Universit. We will no longer be using the track as part of the 5k.
